Lake Fork Report 3-2010 – Lake Havasu

Fishing Time is Here!

After a long cold winter spring has finally sprung here on Lake Fork.  I have enjoyed some good catches in the past few days due to the warming water temperatures.

There are several patterns working right now and these patterns are working in several locations.  The technique that I have going right now that is producing the most bites is fishing a floating Rogue.  On dark days I’m fishing gold/black back and on sunny days chrome/blue back.  I’m fishing these baits just beneath the surface with a fairly fast twitch-twitch pause retrieve and some of the strikes are almost on the surface.  The next best pattern for me right now is a Texas-rigged lizard watermelon/red on clear days and black neon on dark days.  The lizard has produced the larger fish lately with fish up to 7.5 lbs. respectively.  For these larger females I’ve been concentrating on secondary points leading back in the creeks trying to keep my lizard in the 3-6 foot depths.  Hope you enjoy the photos.  If you would like to book a spring trip here are the remaining dates I have available.  You can reach me anytime on my cell at (903)780-0680.
